It just happened in Indiana and it could happen in Ohio, if a proposed amendment to the Ohio Constitution that would enable workers to benefit from a collective bargaining contract a union negotiates with an employer without having to contribute a dollar of their pay to that union, as a condition of employment, makes the General Electiton ballot in NOvember.

Ohio voters, who last November rejected a Republican-backed bill that radically reformed the rules governing collective bargaining in the state by a nearly 2-1 margin, could have another chance to weigh-in on whether amending the constitution to reign in union dues collection is preferable to the bill (SB 5) that fired up Democratas, progressive, unions and their allies to turn out to turn the bill down.

This November Michigan voters may get a chance to put Michigan among the forefront of states in renewable energy usage, pending a petition that would put the initiative on the 2012 ballot. The proposed ballot initiative would require that 25% of Michigan’s energy utilities come from renewable energy sources by 2025, a significant increase from the 4% that currently comes from renewable energy. By putting the initiative directly on the November ballot, the Michigan Jobs & Energy Coalition (which filed the proposed language change) would supersede the Michigan Legislature and put the power directly in the hands of voters.

Supervisor John Avalos has pulled his “must spend” charter amendment that would have stripped the mayor’s spending power. Avalos told Mayor Gavin Newsom on Monday evening that he would pull the initiative, which would have required the mayor to spend money the board appropriates, said Tony Winnicker, Newsom’s spokesman. The Board of Supervisors was expected to vote on the initiative before going on the June 8 ballot.

The following article was released by ZNN on January 3, 2010: January 3, 2010 Toronto Ontario Canada – (ZNN) It may be a coincidence that Denver Colorado UFO advocate Jeff Peckman and U.S. President Barack Obama shared the David Letterman Late Night Show stage in 2008 - exactly three months apart to the day – Peckman on June 10 and Obama as the Senator from Illinois – on September 10, 2008.

The ballot initiative to create an Extraterrestrial Affairs Commission is finally going to Denver voters. In a letter dated November 30, Denver City Clerk and Recorder, Stephanie Y. O’Malley, confirmed sufficiency of the petition. The letter informed Jeff Peckman, chief proponent of the initiative, that “the Denver Elections Division has found a sufficient number of valid signatures to place the measure on the ballot…at the next citywide election.” Well over 10,000 signatures were submitted to obtain the 3,974 valid signatures needed.

A day before the event, organizers said a mere 20,000 or so folks had registered for Saturday’s amazing 9/12 march on Washington to protest out-of-control government. What they got was hundreds of thousands of  intensely patriotic people who came to the nation’s capitol to yell “Stop!”

In a statement dated 22 Sep 09, Dennis Peron announced his opposition to The Regulate, Control, and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010, describing it as “fatally flawed”. The official proponents of this initiative are Richard Lee and Jeff Jones.  It is backed by Oaksterdamn U and the four medical marijuana dispensaries operating in the city of Oakland who have announced they intend to spend at least $1 million to gather signatures.

The Colorado General Assembly is currently reviewing a Democrat proposal (SB 291) designed to punish local school districts if local voters return to restrictions set forth in Article X, Section 20 of the Colorado Constitution (i.e., the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights or TABOR).  Unfortunately, SB 291 is yet another attempt by Democrats to dismantle TABOR and rip away control from local voters.
