Appleton referendum tops today’s primary election ballot

Based on ballot measures, voters in Appleton and Grand Chute figure to have the highest turnouts today in the Fox Cities.

Appleton and Grand Chute comprise the bulk of the Appleton Area School District, where voters will decide the fate of a $15.9 million, three-tiered referendum. Both could easily top statewide voter projections, their respective clerks said Monday.

Today is reserved for primary elections in nonpartisan races, with the top finishers advancing to the April 7 election. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters can register at the polls.
