Transpartisan Movement to Audit the Federal Reserve
Around the country support is growing for a Congressional audit of the Federal Reserve, and numerous groups have signed on to circulate a petition to gather signatures in support of the audit. They plan to present these signatures to Congress as they return from their August recess, with the hope that the pressure of the townhall meetings, numerous phone calls, and thousands of signatures will help push Congress to act on this issue. Audit the Fed is a transpartisan coalition for greater transparency; you can check out the website and sign the petition here.
While this effort does not directly deal with the initiative & referendum process, it is focused on collecting signatures from citizens and giving them a voice. We here at Citizens in Charge Foundation think this is a great effort that is worth the time to check out.
This transpartisan effort is supported by numerous groups including: Campaign for Liberty, Americans for Tax Reform, U.S. PIRG, American Policy Center, Essential Information, OMB Watch, OpenTheGovernment.org, Association for Community Networking, Chicago Digital Access Alliance, Government Accountability Project, NewWayUSA, Earth Intelligence Network, U.S. Bill of Rights Foundation, Republican Liberty Caucus, DownsizeDC.org Inc, Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, American Service Council, After Downing Street, democrats.com, Illinois Community Technology Coalition, National Taxpayers Union, Citizens for Health, Former Congressman Bob Barr, Project On Government Oversight, Center for Fiscal Accountability, Young Americans for Liberty, The Pain Relief Network, Mother Media, Citizen Outreach, The Harbour League, FreedomWorks, The Rutherford Institute, Public Citizen, Green Party, A New Way Forward, Citizens Against Government Waste, The John Birch Society, Liberty Coalition,
