Constitution Day
Today, September 17th, marks the anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution back in 1787. It was signed by 37 men including: George Washington, George Hamilton and Benjamin Franklin. The U.S. Constitution was written and signed in Philadelphia, PA at the Federal Convention, and it is the shortest and oldest constitution in the world today.
So today we remember the signing of the document that allowed our country to grow into the great nation it is today.
Let us not forget, however, that our great nation is not without its problems. The right of the people to petition their government is constantly under attack in states like California, Washington, Oklahoma, and many others, but we will continue working to defend and expand these crucial rights.
