Utah Group Files Suit to Block Release of Voter Names

Thu, Apr 15 2010 by Staff

The latest development in Utah’s rapidly changing initiative rights, Utahans for Ethical Government has filed suit in U.S. District Court asking the court to block the public release of names of voters who signed their petition. The lawsuit, similar to Doe’s argument in the pending Doe v. Reed case(in which the Foundation has submitted an amicus brief), asks the court to protect the privacy of voters.

A hearing began at 10:30 Mountain Time, and we will keep you updated on new developments. You can read the brief that was filed here.
