Brandon W. Holmes
Brandon W. Holmes is the Director of Policy & Advocacy Programs for the Citizens In Charge.
As the hub of Citizens in Charge’s grassroots network and policy activities, Brandon is in regular contact with initiative and referendum activists, public policy leaders and government officials from around the country.
Brandon has experience in grassroots organizing and communication from both private industry and non-profit work. Prior to joining Citizens in Charge Foundation in early 2008, he worked to connect constituents with legislators as a Grassroots Communications Specialist with the consulting firm Direct Impact. In 2007, Brandon worked to organize students on college campuses throughout northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley as a Field Representative with the Leadership Institute.
Joining the Foundation as Executive Assistant to Paul Jacob in 2008, Brandon’s abilities grew with the organization, and later that year he was quickly named Director of Programs to handle the influx of interest in protecting petitioning rights. As the Foundation grew further, adding Amanda Roman as Executive Director, Brandon was chosen to head up an ambitious new agenda to organize ballot initiative supporters nationwide - including the Citizen State Coordinator program - as Grassroots Director.
In light of his ever-increasing role at Citizens in Charge Foundation - including spearheading policy research and analysis on projects such as Of the People, By the People, For the People: A 2010 Report Card on Statewide Voter Initiative Rights - Holmes was named Director of Policy and Advocacy Programs in the spring of 2010.
Holmes earned his B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, WV, where he graduated with Distinction and was inducted into Phi Sigma Tau. Originally from West Virginia, he now resides with his wife and family in Lake Ridge, Virginia.
