Eric O’Keefe
Eric O’Keefe is the treasurer of Citizens in Charge Foundation and Citizens in Charge, and the chairman and CEO of the Chicago-based think tank, the Sam Adams Alliance. O’Keefe is well-known for his support of term limits, and he is a founding board member of U.S. Term Limits. Eric’s plan for a term limits sweep across the country in 1992 and 1994 led twenty-three states to limit the terms of the congressional delegations, prior to the Supreme Court’s decision in U.S. Term Limits v. Thornton. Fifteen states now have term limits on their legislatures thanks in large part to Eric’s efforts.
More recently, Eric has authored the book Who Rules America, which looks to the country’s founding principles to make the case for term limits. The book won praise from the late economist Milton Friedman.
O’Keefe also serves on the Board of Directors of the Club for Growth and the Institute for Humane Studies.
